H.O.M.E., Inc. is seeking a part-time Shelter Support team member for our Orland based shelters for the following weekend shifts:
- Saturdays and Sundays, 3:00pm - 11:00pm
Support Staff are responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all shelter guests. Candidates should have a caring heart and be comfortable maintaining good boundaries while helping people in crisis. Shelter Support staff should be able to work independently as well as with a team. Experience in a helping profession preferred. Experience working in residential programs, a plus.
Terms of Employment: This is a part-time, non-exempt, at-will position. Standard hours are Saturday & Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Compensation range is: $19.00-$22.00/hour. Part-time employees receive accrued PTO and sick time as well as paid time off for holidays/birthday.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, & OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- 1. Experience in a helping profession.
- 2. Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues of homelessness and poverty.
- 3. Effective written and oral communication skills.
- 4. Ability to set strong boundaries and work independently.
- 5. Basic computer competency.
- 6. Valid Maine driver’s license.
- 7. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as moving and lifting objects weighing up to 30lbs.
