Responsibilities
Operate and Monitor SWD Facilities: Oversee daily operations of saltwater disposal wells, pumps, tanks, filters, pipelines, and injection systems. Monitor pressures, flow rates, tank levels, and equipment performance using SCADA systems and on-site instrumentation.
Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, strainers, filters, and other mechanical/electrical components. Clean filter baskets, perform minor repairs, and diagnose issues.
Troubleshoot and Repair: Identify and resolve operational problems onsite. Replace minor components and escalate major repairs to supervision or contractors as needed.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all activities comply with local, state (RRC), and federal environmental regulations, including proper waste handling, spill prevention, and reporting. Participate in safety meetings, JSA’s, and audits. Maintain records for regulatory compliance.
Water Quality and Load Management: Inspect incoming produced water loads, verify documentation, and ensure only approved fluids are accepted for disposal. Sample and test fluids as required.
Reporting and Communication: Complete daily operations reports, maintain accurate logs of volumes, pressures, maintenance activities, and incidents. Communicate effectively with field teams, dispatch, water coordinators, and management
Facility Support: Assist with commissioning of new or upgraded SWD facilities. Support pigging operations, pipeline maintenance, and general site housekeeping.
Emergency Response: Respond to alarms, upsets, or emergencies in a timely and safe manner. Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification in oil & gas, mechanics, or water systems is a plus.
Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience in oil & gas field operations, preferably in saltwater disposal (SWD), produced water handling, or water treatment facilities. Experience in the Barnett Shale or similar dry gas plays is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Working knowledge of pumps, compressors, injection wells, and basic electrical systems.
Familiarity with SCADA, HMI, and remote monitoring tools.
Basic mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
Certifications: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred). OSHA 10/30, H2S, and other oilfield safety certifications a plus. Ability to obtain required regulatory training.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces as needed.
Must pass pre-employment physical, and background check.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
