Job Summary
Sacks Grocery Outlets, Inc is looking for a friendly, dependable, and hardworking Store Associate to support daily grocery store operations and provide excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will assist customers, stock and organize merchandise, operate the checkout area, maintain clean displays, and help keep the store safe, organized, and welcoming.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional assistance.
- Help customers locate products and answer basic questions about merchandise.
- Stock and replenish groceries, beverages, household items, and other products.
- Organize shelves, displays, and assigned store sections.
- Check product labels, prices, and expiration dates as required.
- Receive, unload, sort, and organize incoming merchandise.
- Assist with inventory counts and report low-stock, damaged, or missing products.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked aisles and displays.
- Operate the cash register and POS system accurately when assigned.
- Process cash, credit/debit card, and other customer transactions.
- Assist customers with purchases, returns, exchanges, and general service needs.
- Support promotional displays, seasonal merchandise, and special store events.
- Keep checkout areas, sales floors, storage areas, and displays clean and organized.
- Follow food-safety, sanitation, cash-handling, loss-prevention, and store procedures.
- Report spills, hazards, damaged products, or equipment problems to management.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, and management.
- Perform other grocery store, retail, and customer service duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous grocery, retail, cashier, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Friendly, dependable, and professional attitude.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced store environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic POS or cash register experience is a plus.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and move grocery products and supplies.
- Ability to follow instructions and company policies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Schedule
- Full-time or Part-time
