Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning items to support chefs and cooks
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas regularly to uphold sanitation standards
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and ensuring dining areas are tidy and welcoming
- Handle manual tasks including heavy lifting of supplies and equipment safely according to kitchen health and safety standards
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with food safety management protocols
- Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers or mixers with proper knife skills and safety precautions
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
- Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen setting
- Experience with dishwashing or kitchen prep roles demonstrates readiness for this position
- Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards ensures safe handling of equipment and ingredients
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely during busy service periods
- Prior banquet or catering experience is a plus but not essential; we welcome candidates eager to expand their hospitality skills
