What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work (required).
- Current LPC, LCSW, LMSW, or PLPC and current CPR certification.
- Twenty-four (24) months of recent and relevant behavioral health experience.
- Strong crisis intervention, assessment, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.

What You Will Do:
Provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, and care planning for patients admitted to the Behavioral Health Unit (BHU), collaborating closely with the treatment team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conducts psychosocial assessments, examines biopsychosocial factors, and documents findings accurately.
- Communicates assessment information with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Identifies and reports suspected abuse, neglect, or safety risks according to state and hospital policy.
- Identifies suicidal or homicidal risk and implements appropriate interventions and reporting procedures.
- Facilitates group, individual, and family therapy sessions as ordered by the psychiatrist.
- Monitors ongoing patient issues and contributes to treatment plan updates.
- Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning and communicates tactfully with patients and families.
- Encourages patient involvement in treatment decisions and provides education as needed.
- Monitors medical necessity and appropriateness of continued stay.
- Initiates discharge planning and coordinates community referrals to ensure continuity of care.
- Conducts group, family, and individual sessions as scheduled.
- Collaborates with team members to enhance patient outcomes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
