Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Custom Woodworker / Fabricator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality custom wood products and fabrications, transforming detailed blueprints and technical drawings into finished pieces that meet precise specifications. Your expertise in woodworking, fabrication, and construction techniques will contribute to a variety of projects, from cabinetry and fixtures to restoration and remodeling tasks. Responsibilities
- Interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate custom wood components and assemblies.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install cabinetry, doors, siding, fixtures, and other wood-based structures with precision.
- Perform trim carpentry tasks including door hanging, molding installation, and framing to ensure seamless finishes.
- Assist with restoration projects involving water damage repair.
- Conduct heavy lifting and material handling safely while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure project specifications are met on time and within scope.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry, woodworking, or fabrication within the construction or restoration industry.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, construction plans, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, metal stud framing equipment, and related fabrication tools.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and understanding of various trades such as plumbing, electrical work, caulking, and fixture installation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols including power tool safety standards and site-specific safety procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements quickly.
- Prior experience working on construction sites or in manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
