Our firm is seeking a dynamic geotechnical engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for conducting field assessments, interpreting data and creating reports. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and develop subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs.
- Perform site reconnaissance for geotechnical issues and geological information.
- Perform geotechnical field investigations including but not limited to soil SPT sampling, rock coring, groundwater monitoring, soil logging/classification using USCS and ASTM standards, site characterizations, infiltration testing, construction oversight, instrumentation testing, etc.
- Preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and other reporting documents.
- Assist in shallow and deep foundation analyses, slope stability analysis, soil and rock-cut slope designs, and subgrade evaluations for single and multi-storied buildings, tower foundations, marine structures, process plant facility, earth retaining structures, foundation underpinning, dewatering, civil drainage and grading, soil and groundwater remediation systems, and renewable energy projects.
- Support field investigation activities including condition surveys, field measurement and data collection.
- Other duties may include performing conceptual/detailed engineering calculations, preparing reports and presentations, preparing and optimizing standard engineering details, CAD design, performing and reviewing engineering calculations, conducting field support and site visits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil/geotechnical engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- 0-5 years progressive professional experience.
- E.I.T. certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to perform drilling and construction inspection for private and public projects.
- Availability to travel across New York and New Jersey.
- Knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering principles and practices, and engineering software such as gINT, Slide or Slope/W, LPile, RSPile or APile, GRLWEAP, Mathcad, RS2 or Plaxis, etc.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project).
- Strong and creative problem-solving ability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be self-motivated and interested in working with a team of engineering professionals to provide high-quality technical service for a wide variety of project types.
Other Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior internship or professional work in a related field (i.e., geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, and construction)
- Master’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering or closely aligned degree from an ABET accredited institution is a plus.
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher training.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within three to five years of hire is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of engineering standards, design codes, and other applicable state and federal guidelines.
- Ability to research and compile data, studies, and reports as required by clients, project managers or other disciplines.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment to deliver projects of varying complexity or products that exceeds client expectations.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work on multidisciplinary projects including structural, geotechnical and/or marine engineering with working knowledge of database programs, GIS, and CAD.
- The selected candidates should enjoy solving problems, working on multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion, applying advanced engineering principles in novel applications, keeping abreast of current technology, and being part of a motivated and highly skilled team. Position will be based in Langhorne, PA office with some periodic travel required.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
