Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly nursing staff schedules.

Schedule RNs, LPNs/LVNs, and CNAs according to census, resident acuity, and staffing requirements.

Monitor staffing levels and identify coverage needs in advance.

Respond to call-offs and arrange replacement staff for open shifts.
-
Contact employees regarding available shifts, overtime, and schedule changes.

Maintain an accurate list of available, on-call, agency, and per-diem staff.

Monitor overtime and work with nursing leadership to control unnecessary overtime.

Ensure staff are scheduled in accordance with facility policies, labor regulations, and required staffing ratios.

Maintain attendance and scheduling records.

Communicate schedule changes to nursing supervisors and affected employees.

Coordinate weekend, holiday, and on-call schedules.

Assist with orientation and scheduling of newly hired nursing employees.
-
Track vacations, PTO, leaves of absence, and other scheduling requests.

Work with the DON to resolve staffing shortages and recurring scheduling issues.

Maintain confidentiality of employee and resident information.

Perform other duties as assigned by nursing administration.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, nursing home, hospital, or healthcare staffing environment preferred.

Experience with staff scheduling is strongly preferred.

Knowledge of nursing department staffing requirements.

Strong organizational and communication skills.
-
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple staffing needs.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic scheduling systems.
-
Ability to handle confidential employee information professionally.
