Universal Traffic Service is a full-service supply chain management company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As an employee-owned business, we invest in the people and systems that keep our operations sharp and we’re looking for a Systems Administrator to help us do exactly that.
This role sits at the core of our IT infrastructure. You will work with a small support team and manage the systems that our business depends on every day from Active Directory and network reliability to virtualization, disaster recovery, and Microsoft 365. You’ll be a hands-on owner of the environment you help build and maintain.
This is a full-time, in-office position based at our Grand Rapids corporate headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and IIS
- Monitor and tune server performance; apply security hardening best practices across the environment
- Manage network infrastructure including VPN, VLAN tagging, firewall rules, ACLs, and NAT configurations
- Support and configure networking equipment to maintain reliable, segmented network architecture
- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and CMD scripting
- Administer Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Entra ID, and hybrid deployment configurations
- Manage virtualization platforms including Hyper-V and VMware/vCloud environments
- Own disaster recovery planning and execution: incident response, BaaS, DRaaS, and on-call coverage
Experience and Skills Required
- Solid hands-on experience with Windows Server administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, IIS)
- Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts: VLANs, VPN, firewalls, ACLs, and NAT
- Proficiency with PowerShell and CMD for automation and troubleshooting
- Experience managing Microsoft 365 workloads including Exchange Online, Entra ID, and hybrid setups
- Familiarity with Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualization platforms
- Experience with or strong understanding of BaaS/DRaaS solutions and incident response procedures
- Strong communicator who documents well and follows through under pressure
- Self-starter who takes ownership of the environment and proactively identifies improvement opportunities
Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
