Emerald Magic is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Part-Time Sales & Community Outreach Representative to represent our family of brands at community events, street fairs, trade shows, and local networking opportunities, including the Port Jefferson Station–Terryville Chamber of Commerce Summer Concert Series.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people, creating opportunities, and turning conversations into long-term customer relationships.
You'll serve as a brand ambassador for all Emerald Magic businesses by providing prompt, professional information, generating estimates, following up on leads, and closing sales.
What You'll DoCommunity Engagement & Events
- Set up, manage, and represent Emerald Magic at street fairs, trade shows, chamber events, and community programs
- Engage attendees with a warm, professional approach and identify their needs by asking, "What can we do to help you?"
- Build relationships with homeowners, local businesses, and community organizations
- Promote our commitment to horticultural science, environmental responsibility, and exceptional customer service
Sales & Business Development
- Generate and qualify new leads through networking, canvassing, referrals, and community outreach
- Follow up promptly with prospects to provide estimates and close sales
- Ask for the sale and confidently recommend the best solutions for each customer's needs
- Create opportunities by connecting with neighbors of new and existing customers
- Identify upsell opportunities and recommend complementary recurring services
Customer Service & Account Management
- Manage customer information accurately and maintain organized follow-up schedules
- Provide exceptional customer service via phone, email, in person, and at events
- Support marketing initiatives by promoting seasonal services, special offers, and new programs
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the Emerald Magic brand with integrity

- Emerald Lawn Care Programs (6, 8, and 10-treatment plans)
- Landscape Protection Programs (4, 6, and 8 treatments)
- Flea, Tick, and Mosquito Control Programs
- Bed Maintenance Services
- Lawn Renovation and Seeding
- Poison Ivy and Invasive Vine Control
- Holiday Lighting and Décor Services
Our goal is to build long-term customer relationships through recurring services and multiple program enrollments.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in outside sales, inside sales, customer service, or business development
- Experience in the lawn care, landscape, horticulture, nursery, or green industry preferred
- Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to ask for the sale and close business professionally
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable using computers, smartphones, calendars, and customer management software
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Multilingual abilities are a plus
