Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Marine Welder to work on Ship. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding and fabrication, with the ability to follow technical drawings. This role requires an individual who can perform various welding techniques and ensure high-quality standards in all projects. The Welder will also collaborate with other team members to meet project deadlines and maintain safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Read technical drawings to determine project specifications
- Fabricate metal components according to design requirements
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters
- Conduct maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance
- Assist in rigging and assembly of components for larger projects
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients regarding project specifications or concerns
- Perform heavy lifting as required during the fabrication process
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Welder or in a similar role with mechanical knowledge
- Familiarity with electrical systems is a plus
- Experience in vehicle maintenance or service technician roles is advantageous
- Ability to work with sheet metal and perform soldering tasks effectively
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes and techniques
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Military experience is preferred but not required
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely and efficiently
