In Loving Memory is a printing business located in Richardson. We specialize in serving the funeral industry and we have an opening for a full-time position in the layout department. We are open 365 days a year.
Job Description:
As a member of the layout team, you will perform a variety of tasks such as creating funeral programs from existing templates, editing text such as obituaries, proofreading programs before going to print, creating custom funeral programs and photo retouching.
We work at a fast and efficient pace due to our 24 hour turnaround time. Our work here is repetitive and detail oriented.
Skills Necessary:
Excellent computer skills
Attention to detail such as spelling, proper grammar, and layout details (typefaces, alignment, print imperfections, etc.)
Ability to perform repetitive tasks without losing focus
Ability to be creative while adhering to the needs of our clientele
Problem solving, open to new solutions
Ability to pick up new software and new systems quickly
Software Knowledge Required:
Adobe InDesign CC
-Familiar with intermediate InDesign functions (inputting text for printed materials, placing text, placing photos, ensure perfect alignment using grid and column structures, using and creating text and paragraph styles, creating collages, and occasionally creating complex programs such as booklets).
Adobe Photoshop CC
-Must be able to do light retouching, photo correction (masking, dust/scratch removal, retouching skin, color correction, photo restoration, resizing for print)
