Overview
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic music professional to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and a commitment to fostering a love for music in students ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. This position involves teaching music theory, instrument skills, and vocal techniques, while also promoting creativity and self-expression through music. The Music Teacher will lead music sessions providing both group and individualized music classes.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly group music sessions (20-30 minutes) for larger groups of children across various age groups (infants through preschoolers).
- Provide weekly individualized music sessions (20-30 minutes) for each classroom to cater to the unique needs of small groups of children.
- Introduce children to basic music concepts, including rhythm, melody, and movement, through songs, instruments, and interactive activities.
- Collaborate with other educators to ensure sessions align with the development needs of the children.
Experience
- Strong musical background, including proficiency in at least one instrument (guitar, keyboard, etc.)
- Previous experience working with young children (ages 6 weeks to 5 years) in an educational or daycare setting is preferred.
- A passion for early childhood development and the role of music in learning.
- Energetic, creative, and able to engage children in a fun and meaningful way.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Background in early childhood education or music education is a plus but not required.
