Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and attentive Overnight Dog Daycare Attendant to provide exceptional care and supervision for dogs staying overnight at our facility. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, comfortable working independently, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and calm environment for all pets in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise dogs during overnight boarding and ensure their safety and well-being.
- Monitor canine behavior and respond appropriately to signs of stress, illness, or injury.
- Perform regular overnight wellness checks and document observations.
- Administer meals, fresh water, and medications as directed.
- Take dogs outside for scheduled potty breaks and light exercise.
- Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, food and water bowls, and common areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure facility throughout the shift.
- Follow established safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures.
- Accurately complete overnight logs and communicate important updates to the daytime staff.
- Handle dogs of various breeds, sizes, temperaments, and energy levels using safe handling techniques.
- Respond calmly and professionally to emergencies or unexpected situations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with dogs in a daycare, boarding, kennel, veterinary, or animal shelter setting is preferred.
- Genuine love for animals and understanding of canine behavior.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and attentive during overnight shifts.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Must be comfortable cleaning up pet waste and maintaining high sanitation standards.
- Availability to work overnight, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of dog body language and group play management.
- Experience administering medications.
- Pet First Aid and CPR certification (preferred but not required).
Work Environment
- Fast-paced animal care facility with frequent exposure to barking dogs and cleaning chemicals.
- Requires walking, standing, lifting, bending, and working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
