Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing crucial support as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for students ranging from PreK to post-secondary ages. In this school setting, you’ll work collaboratively with educators and under the supervision of a dedicated Occupational Therapist, supporting a diverse caseload of 50–70 students.
This position begins August 10, 2026, and continues through June 4, 2027, with a consistent workweek of 30 hours. Your expertise will help foster student independence, enhance participation, and promote functional skills within the classroom and school environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience in school-based settings is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Interest in or experience working with diverse student age groups (PreK through post-secondary)
- Ability to collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapist, teachers, and families
- Understanding of IEP documentation and special education procedures
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals, under OT supervision
- Assist with assessments, data collection, and progress monitoring
- Foster development of fine motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive functioning in the classroom
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to implement strategies and modifications
- Accurately document services provided and track student progress using school-approved systems
- Participate in team meetings to review student needs and share insights
