Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nursing Supervisor - Registered Nurse to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. Duties
- Supervise and manage nursing staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and NCQA standards.
- Coordinate patient care activities including assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and medical documentation using EMR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth.
- Oversee complex clinical procedures such as IV insertion, catheter care, ventilator management, spinal taps, and wound suturing.
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and assessments of physiology and anatomy knowledge.
- Lead discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes to optimize patient outcomes and resource utilization.
- Ensure infection control practices are maintained through aseptic techniques and sterile processing protocols.
- Provide team management by supervising nurses in acute care settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), pediatric units including PICU, neonatal ventilator care, and geriatric or dementia care units.
- Facilitate ongoing staff training on EMR/EHR systems, CPT coding for billing accuracy, and medical terminology updates.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for specialized areas like cardiac catheterization, ophthalmology procedures, or occupational health initiatives.
- Maintain detailed medical records and ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to medical documentation.
Skills
- Proven leadership experience in nurse management with the ability to supervise diverse healthcare teams effectively..
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience working with special populations in assisted living residents,
- Knowledge of infection control practices and sterile technique; familiarity with laboratory experience and medical imaging procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for effective team coordination and patient education; capable of working under pressure in fast-paced environments like emergency medicine or acute care units.
