Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Analyst to support enterprise systems and applications for a large K-12 school district in the Plano, TX area. This role will analyze, support, test, verify, implement, and document business applications that support the district's instructional, operational, and informational needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting K-12 ERP and/or Student Information Systems (SIS) and be comfortable working at the intersection of business processes, technology, data, and end users.
This is a 3-month contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for permanent employment. The position offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement; however, candidates must live within the DFW area and should be available for occasional onsite meetings and districtwide travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, support, implement, and maintain assigned enterprise applications and business systems.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, identify underlying needs, and recommend effective technology solutions.
- Conduct business process analysis, functional gap analysis, and workflow assessments.
- Coordinate application implementations, upgrades, projects, and system enhancements.
- Develop and maintain project work plans, specifications, meeting documentation, and implementation plans.
- Manage application issues and coordinate troubleshooting efforts with internal technical teams, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Perform user acceptance testing (UAT), data migration testing, data conversion testing, and regression testing.
- Test application patches, upgrades, new releases, integrations, and reports prior to production deployment.
- Develop queries and reports using SQL, SSRS, Crystal Reports, or similar reporting platforms.
- Perform data mapping, data integration, data conversion, and data cleanup activities.
- Support application security, workflow, and user-level administration.
- Provide post-production support for assigned applications and modules.
- Document system functionality, business processes, procedures, technical requirements, and troubleshooting information.
- Develop and deliver end-user training for applicable systems and modules.
- Partner with vendors and developers to troubleshoot application issues and optimize system performance.
- Communicate project status, issues, risks, milestones, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or IT Analyst, preferably supporting K-12 ERP/SIS applications.
- Experience working with K-12 enterprise applications, ERP platforms, and/or Student Information Systems (SIS).
- Strong business process and systems analysis experience.
- Experience with system integrations, data mapping, data conversions, and data cleanup.
- Experience with application testing, UAT, upgrades, patches, and production implementations.
- Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with databases and database management tools.
- Experience creating complex reports and queries using SSRS, Crystal Reports, SQL, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing requirements effectively.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Must pass a criminal background Fingerprint check upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
- K-12 school district experience.
- ITIL v4 certification.
- PMP certification.
- Microsoft technology certifications.
- Application development or scripting experience.
- Experience with enterprise application security and workflow administration.
