Firearm Media Creator
Ready Gunner – Orem, Utah
Ready Gunner is hiring for a new media production specialist for our long form videos.
Primary Focus.
Product and services detailed walk through video.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will work with in-store inventory creating informative videos about specific firearms and related products.
You will be responsible for the full production process, including:
- Planning each video
- Preparing the firearm and filming area
- Camera setup and lighting
- Filming product footage
- Editing completed videos
- Re-editing content for social media
- Writing a brief description or summary for each video
You will also work with other team members when additional firearm knowledge, demonstrations, or on-camera expertise is needed.
You don’t need to be a firearms specialist or experienced with guns, (it will help a lot if you are) but you do need to be able to quickly learn about the many different variations.
Primary Content Product Walkthrough Videos
Create 3–6 minute horizontal videos designed primarily for ReadyGunner.com, and social platforms.
Videos should help customers understand:
- What the firearm is
- Major features and specifications
- Pros and cons
- Who the firearm is best suited for
- Why customers like it – and why some do not
- Closest competing products that Ready Gunner carries
- Differences between similar models
Additional Product Content
When applicable, and as you get up to speed with product knowledge, videos may also cover:
- Available Accessories
- Available Optics / lighting
- Different versions or configurations
- More affordable alternatives
- A more premium alternatives
- Recommended upgrades or supporting products
Short-Form Social Media
Existing footage will also be re-edited and optimized into vertical short-form content for platforms including:
- Instagram
- Facebook
- YouTube
- YouTube Shorts
The goal is to get as much valuable content as possible out of each filming session.
What we’re Looking For
You must have:
- Basic camera and filming skills
- Minimum basic but we prefer intermediate video editing experience
- Basic firearm knowledge
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to learn products quickly
- Ability to work independently and stay organized
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who can plan, film, edit, and publish content efficiently and consistently.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal person for this role enjoys firearms, understands digital media, social platforms, and likes working behind the scenes.
You should be comfortable taking a product from the shelf and turning it into a complete piece of media—from researching and planning the video to filming, editing, and preparing it for the website and social platforms.
You can the voice over for the voice overs, if you are good at direct to camera, that may be an option, or you can write scripts, and a co-worker can do the direct to camera, or voiceover.
This is a production-focused position. The primary job is behind the camera, not in front of it.
The goal of this position is simple: help customers better understand the firearms and products we sell before they make a purchase.
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
