Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Lead Maintenance Supervisor to support and oversee daily maintenance operations at our hotel complex in Huntington Beach. This is a working supervisor role, ideal for a strong maintenance technician ready to step into leadership while remaining actively involved in repairs and preventive maintenance.
You will help guide a small maintenance team, ensure timely completion of work orders, and maintain the safety, functionality, and appearance of the property. This role requires strong technical ability across HVAC, electrical, and general building systems, as well as the initiative to take ownership of maintenance operations.
This position also provides an excellent growth opportunity, with involvement in a major property renovation scheduled for early 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house systems
- Support and guide maintenance team members to ensure efficient completion of daily work orders
- Assist in scheduling and executing preventive maintenance programs
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, including PTAC units
- Diagnose and repair high- and low-voltage electrical systems using appropriate tools and schematics
- Ensure adherence to safety practices, OSHA standards, and property maintenance procedures
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance activities, and equipment history
- Assist leadership with planning and execution of renovation and capital improvement projects
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in hotels, apartments, or commercial facilities
- Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred (or strong readiness to step into a leadership role)
- Solid working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret basic schematics and technical manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks regularly
- Basic computer skills for work order tracking
Schedule Requirements
- Full-time schedule averaging 50 hours per week (includes guaranteed overtime)
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and respond to urgent maintenance needs
- On-call availability for emergencies as needed
