About the Position
We are looking for a hands-on Quality Assurance & Training Supervisor to support our food safety, quality, and employee training programs.
This position works closely with Production Management and Human Resources to ensure products meet quality and food safety standards and employees are properly trained to perform their jobs safely and correctly.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working on the production floor, training employees, enforcing standards, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Food Safety
- Oversee daily quality control and food safety activities.
- Conduct pre-operational, operational, and quality inspections.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, USDA/FSIS, and other food safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate quality and food safety records.
- Perform product and food-contact surface testing.
- Identify food safety or quality concerns and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support USDA inspections, audits, recalls, and reassessments.
- Review product labels for USDA/FSIS compliance.
- Support requirements for Canadian exports.
- Provide daily guidance and support to Quality Control Technicians.
- Calibrate and verify production equipment.
- Work with management to stop or pause production when there is a food safety or quality concern.
Training & Employee Development
- Partner with HR and management to develop employee training and onboarding.
- Train employees on food safety, quality, safety procedures, and SOPs.
- Conduct quarterly safety training and required refresher training.
- Provide hands-on demonstrations, coaching, and retraining as needed.
- Track employee training and maintain accurate training records.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Support supervisors and leads in reinforcing quality and food safety expectations.
Safety & Team Support
- Reinforce OSHA, PPE, sanitation, and equipment safety requirements.
- Participate in safety investigations and improvement projects.
- Partner with HR and management on employee coaching and corrective actions.
- Assist Production when needed after QC and training responsibilities are completed.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, food safety, or food manufacturing.
- Experience supervising, training, or coaching employees.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, USDA/FSIS, and OSHA requirements.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on production environment.
- Able to enforce standards and provide constructive feedback.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Meat processing experience is a plus.
