Associate Buyer
SWFM Retail Group, LLC (Forman Mills/Shoppers World) is a retail outlet superstore (off-price retailer), with our Corporate Office based out of Cinnaminson, New Jersey. We specialize in designer fashions for the family. We currently have 78 stores in numerous markets. Our growth plans over the next 3-5 years is extensive, offering opportunities for anyone looking for personal success and career growth.
Associate Buyer is a mid-level professional in retail or corporate procurement, responsible for managing one or more product categories. They operate with autonomy over assigned sub-categories or vendors while executing the broader strategy set by a Senior Buyer or Category Manager. This role is critical in ensuring inventory aligns with business objectives and market demand, often serving as a steppingstone to a full Buyer position
- Meet & Source Vendors
- Select Merchandise
- Negotiate Prices, Terms, etc. pledging company credit
- Participate in Open To Buy Meetings with Planners
- Attend Trade shows, may shop LA Market & Off Price Shows

Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in a Associate Buyer position in retail environment. Softlines/Girls and Woman preferred.
- or Relevant Assistant Buyer Experience ready to take the next step.
- Strong Negotiation Skills
- Personable, outgoing Personality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel), retail math, ERP Systems, and inventory management
- excellent communications and people skills
- work closely with Buyers, Senior Buyers, merchandising team and vendors
- analytical/detail oriented
- Transportation required
Fashion Merchandising degree - preferred.
