Summary:
The Manager, Board Relations/Board Liaison assists the Board of Trustees in completing its work as effectively and efficiently as possible, according to policy, goals, and strategic plans of the MetroHealth System. Incumbent schedules and prepares for board meetings, maintains board records, updates bylaws, coordinates trustee orientation and continuing education, and provides support activities as necessary or as requested by the Board. The Manger, Board Relations/Board Liaison reports directly to the Board Chair, works for the entire Board, collaborates with the President/CEO, the General Counsel, and other members of the Senior Leadership Team, and upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management or related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
- Experience supporting governing boards and board committees.
- Knowledge and experience with the State of Ohio Sunshine Laws.
- Considerable knowledge of health system programs, policies, and procedures
- Knowledge of records management and general office practices and procedures.
- Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality, corporate decorum and social sensitivity required for the position.
- Ability to organize and perform work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to prepare and maintain board reports and requisite legal records.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational, project management, problem-solving and impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
- Ability to interact with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred:
- Knowledge and experience in supporting a hospital system board.
