Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating engineer drawings into precise technical drawings and models that can be used for duct fabrication and installation on commercial projects in the central Missouri area. Your expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) software and building information modeling (BIM) tools will ensure accurate shop fabrication and field installation of MEP systems on all of our projects. Duties
- Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, PractiCAD, Etc.
- Create comprehensive duct drawings that detail documentation that aligns with project specifications and building code requirements.
- Utilize BIM tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Trimble, to develop intelligent building models that facilitate collaboration across disciplines.
- Conduct building code analysis to ensure designs adhere to local regulations and standards for safety, accessibility, and sustainability.
- Prepare schematics, system designs, and graphic presentations for project planning, coordination, duct fabrication/installation, and project planning.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to refine design concepts through drafting, system design, and visualizations.
- Support mechanical design, and system integration efforts through precise CAD modeling and graphic documentation.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback, ensuring accuracy in construction detail documentation and compliance with project timelines.
Experience
- Proven experience working with a variety of CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Etc.
- Strong background in construction detail documentation, sheet metal ductwork coordination, and BIM workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to produce accurate 2D schematics as well as complex 3D CAD models for mechanical systems.
- Experience in mechanical design projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with construction processes and field experience enhances understanding of practical application of drawings.
- Knowledge of graphic design principles and system design enhances visual communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines is essential.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
