JOB DESCRIPTION
CONTROLLER
The Controller will be responsible for all aspects of the accounting operations of a $2.1 billion Pension Fund (including a real estate subsidiary) and a $110 million Health & Welfare Fund from a daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly standpoint.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections and general accounting procedures
- Payroll for approximately 30 employees across 3 entities
- Manage yearly auditing processes - act as the point person and prepare working papers and proper records for the annual audit and tax preparation
- Manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements
- Produce daily, monthly and ad hoc financial reports
- Tenant rent invoicing, collection and reporting
- Provide a Board of Trustees and Board of Directors with information vital to the decision-making process
- Oversee regulatory reporting
- Establish and maintaining internal controls
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses
- Coordinate or assist with the budget process
- Prepare and analyze all financial statements and managerial reports
- Bank account reconciliations
- Maintain all financial records
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Seasoned accounting/finance professional with at least 7 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA Preferred
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (GAAP)
- Previous experience with Taft-Hartley (Union) benefit plans highly valued
- High level of proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and knowledge of other MS Office applications - Word, Outlook
- Strong communication skills - critical thinking and decisiveness
- Must possess a high ethical and professional standard

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
