Role Overview
We are supporting a well-established Mechanical Contractor based in Nassau County that is looking to hire an Electrical Estimator to join its growing estimating team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with 3–5 years of experience who is looking to develop their career with a respected contractor delivering commercial MEP projects across the New York metropolitan area. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing drawings and specifications, and supporting the business in securing new work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate electrical estimates and competitive bid proposals.
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Identify value engineering opportunities where appropriate.
- Work closely with project management and operations teams during project handover.
- Maintain estimating records and assist with bid submissions.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of electrical estimating experience.
- Experience estimating commercial electrical construction projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 DOE
