Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong desire to assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for our furry guests.
Availability in the AFTERNOONS and WEEKENDS is a MUST.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and exercising
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and animal living areas including pooper scooping
- Conduct group play, dog walking, private playtimes, cuddle sessions, and hands-on checks of the dogs' well-being
- Administer medications as directed
- Assist in animal handling and restraint during procedures
- Help maintain inventory of supplies and report any shortage
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with a team-oriented approach

- Physically Capable: Must be able to stand and walk for 6 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.

Shift Requirements:
- Weekend Availability: This is a must
- Availability: Open availability is preferred, but we will consider candidates with select hours. You must be available and physically able to work.
- Proximity: Prefer applicants who live close to East Haddam, CT
- Transport: The candidate must have a reliable car and ability to drive to work daily.
- Weather Tolerance: Be prepared to work outside in all types of weather.
