Overview:
The CYF Minister is responsible for leading and growing Christian educational programming, service, and fellowship opportunities for children, youth, and family contexts. The main responsibilities will take place on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. In collaboration with pastor, staff, volunteers, and families, the CYF Minister will provide leadership and oversight for programs, events, and initiatives that foster spiritual growth, intergenerational relationships, biblical understanding, and active participation in the life of the church. This is a flexible position of 10-20 hrs/week
Qualifications:
- Strong desire to proclaim the Gospel as meaningful for children, youth, and families
- Ability to work as a team, take direction, and recruit/lead volunteers
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a background check
- Desire and ability (to learn) to communicate effectively through texts, social media sites, and other technology resources
- Direct or transferable experience training and organizing youth and adult leaders and planning/coordinating events
- Interest in thinking creatively about how to do CYF Ministry in a rapidly changing world
Tasks:
- Plan/organize annual children, youth, and family geared events within the church
- Assist Pastor with Wednesday evening confirmation classes and other milestone classes
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers for Sunday School & Wednesday evening youth education classes/events
- Develop and implement plans to foster intergenerational relationships in the congregation
- Consult with and support the MomCo ministry group
- Regularly and effectively communicate with youth & parents/guardians about programming and events
- Participate in office meetings as needed
- Produce monthly reports to council
Hours and Compensation:
- 10 - 20 hours per week. Paid on a per-hour basis.
- Pay range = $16 - $19 per hour starting pay based on relevant experience

Pay: $8,320.00 - $19,760.00 per year
