Maintenance Technician – Miami Beach, FL
Pay: Starting at $19 per hour, up to $25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | On-call rotation as needed
About the Position
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team at a residential apartment community in Miami Beach. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and experienced in general building maintenance, with a strong focus on electrical work.
One of the most important requirements for this position is that the candidate must own a reliable truck. The truck will be used on a regular basis to transport maintenance materials, tools, appliances, and other equipment between properties and job sites. Applicants without a truck will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the property.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (electrical experience preferred).
- Complete plumbing repairs, including unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, and minor pipe repairs.
- Patch, repair, and replace sheetrock/drywall.
- Perform roof inspections and minor roof repairs (preferred).
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
- Install and replace appliances, fixtures, doors, locks, and other building components.
- Assist with apartment turnovers, including preparing units for new residents.
- Perform preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Maintain the grounds, common areas, and mechanical rooms in a clean and safe condition.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a maintenance or building technician.
- Strong electrical and plumbing knowledge.
- Experience with drywall repairs; roofing experience is a plus.
- Must own a reliable truck capable of transporting tools, maintenance materials, and apartment appliances. This is a mandatory requirement for the position.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- No criminal history.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to participate in an on-call rotation for emergencies.
