Position Summary
The Detail Technician is responsible for thoroughly cleaning, restoring, and protecting the interior and exterior surfaces of customer vehicles in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean, detail, and refurbish new and used vehicles to company standards.
- Apply proprietary detailing and protection products to customer vehicles.
- Detail vehicles, ensuring a showroom-quality finish.
- Clean vehicle interiors, including carpets, upholstery, dashboards, windows, and trim.
- Inspect vehicles for noticeable defects such as dents, scratches, stains, or upholstery damage and report findings to management.
- Operate detailing equipment and utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow company procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent the Ziebart brand professionally.
- Assist with other automotive appearance and protection services as needed.
QualificationsRequired Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and understand printed and graphic materials.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Comfortable and competent using basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated to learn.
Education and Experience
- Previous automotive detailing experience preferred but not required.
- Paid training provided.
License Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Ability to safely operate customer vehicles.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to bend, kneel, twist, crouch, and reach to access all areas of a vehicle.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions typical of an automotive service environment.
