Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated School Security Guard to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, visitors, and property. In this vital role, you will be responsible for monitoring school premises, controlling access points, and responding swiftly to emergencies. Your proactive presence will help deter misconduct, prevent theft, and maintain order throughout the campus. Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of school grounds, hallways, entrances, and parking areas to identify potential security risks or safety hazards
- Manage access control systems to verify identities of visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises
- Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to observe activity and detect suspicious behavior or unauthorized access
- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies by following established protocols including fire safety procedures and evacuation plans
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other noteworthy events for future reference and compliance purposes
- Perform background checks on new staff or visitors as required to maintain a secure environment
- Assist in emergency response procedures including first aid administration, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and conflict de-escalation techniques
Experience
- Prior experience in security roles within educational institutions, military service, law enforcement or related fields is highly desirable
- Knowledge of physical security practices including CCTV operation, access control systems, manual handling, and loss prevention strategies
- Training in emergency response procedures such as first aid, CPR, AED use, fire safety protocols and conflict management
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or supplies during patrols or emergency situations
- Strong skills in incident report writing with attention to detail and clarity
- Familiarity with legal regulations related to security operations and compliance standards in educational settings
