CSI Companies is seeking an Azure Data Architect to support enterprise healthcare data modernization initiatives. This individual will lead the design and architecture of cloud-based data platforms, helping organizations leverage Azure technologies to integrate, manage, and analyze clinical, operational, and financial data.

- Design and oversee enterprise-scale data architecture solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure technologies
- Establish architecture standards, best practices, governance frameworks, and technical roadmaps
- Evaluate existing data environments and recommend scalable, cost-effective cloud solutions
- Partner with business leaders, analytics teams, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical architecture
- Architect data ingestion, storage, transformation, and reporting solutions across healthcare data ecosystems
- Guide implementation teams through architecture decisions and technical design reviews
- Ensure solutions meet requirements for scalability, performance, security, compliance, and data governance
- Develop and maintain logical and physical data models supporting enterprise analytics initiatives
- Create strategies for integrating EMR, claims, operational, and third-party healthcare data into Azure platforms
- Drive data quality, data governance, and modernization efforts across the organization
- 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Cloud Architecture, or Enterprise Data Platforms
- Deep experience with Azure data technologies including:
- Microsoft Fabric
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
- Proven experience designing enterprise data architectures, not solely developing ETL pipelines
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, data modeling, data warehousing, and modern analytics platforms
- Experience evaluating and recommending architecture solutions across large-scale environments
- Experience integrating data from Epic or other EMR/EHR systems into cloud-based analytics environments
- Working knowledge of healthcare data standards and interoperability, including:
- HL7
- FHIR
- Clinical and claims data structures
- Strong understanding of healthcare data domains, including:
- Encounters
- Diagnoses
- Medications
- Laboratory Data
- Orders
- Claims
- Revenue Cycle
- Healthcare provider, payer, life sciences, or healthcare technology experience
- Oncology data experience including:
- Tumor Registries
- Cancer Treatment Data
- Clinical Trials
- Genomics Data
- Oncology Outcomes
- Epic Beacon
- Experience supporting population health, research, or advanced analytics initiatives
- Azure certifications
The ideal candidate has successfully led architecture and cloud data transformation initiatives within healthcare environments and brings expertise in Azure-based data platforms. They possess a strong understanding of healthcare data structures, interoperability standards, and EMR data integration. Successful candidates will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and technical level, collaborating with stakeholders while guiding engineering teams on architecture best practices and long-term data platform strategy.
