Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately using pharmacy software systems,
- Assist with medication inventory management, including stock replenishment and proper storage according to pharmaceutical regulations.
- Perform pharmaceutical calculations for medication dosages, compounding medications, and drug preparation.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation standards, and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
- Support patient service activities such as medication intake, data entry, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with healthcare privacy laws.
- Conduct drug utilization reviews and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety.
- Keep detailed records of all pharmacy transactions, including inventory logs, incident reports, and regulatory documentation.
- Stay current on pharmacological medical terminology, medical procedures, and hospital or healthcare regulations to ensure best practices.Experience
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician community pharmacy environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation standards, and sterile compounding techniques.
- Experience with pharmacy software systems used for data entry, medication tracking, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to acute care and pharmacology is essential.
- Proven ability to maintain patient confidentiality while adhering to strict privacy protocols.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care and communication in fast-paced healthcare settings.
