US Staffing Agency is hiring for a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician in Jackson, Michigan.
Manufacturing Maintenance Technician Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities include the following:
- Follows all established safety rules and guidelines and related safety programs
- Reads and interprets blue prints
- Assists with the installation of new equipment as necessary
- Performs mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs on various equipment and parts as necessary to ensure the continued production of quality products
- Performs electrical troubleshooting and repairs to 110 volt, 220 volt, and 480 volt equipment including pumps, motors, panel boxes, and PLCs
- Performs various welding operations including, but not limited to, the use of arc, mig, and tig welding equipment; and flame cutting and acetylene torch use
- Installs and/or repairs plumbing as needed
- Repair process controls
- Performs preventive maintenance tasks from assigned list
- Conscientiously looks for, maintains, and suggests ways to improve general shop floor housekeeping
- Maintain accurate job records and accounts for all materials and work performed. Other duties may be assigned. Manufacturing Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/ GED and 3-5 years of experience in a similar field.
- May be required to work extra hours (come in early or stay over late), and weekends
- Able to perform independently with minimal supervision
- Understand the principles of heat treating steel, and the processes used at IST
- Familiar with the use, storage, and disposal of all types of waste material
- Is skillful in the use of typical industrial tools, materials, and equipment (examples listed below)
- Furnaces, parts washers, hoists, forklifts, lift tables, charge cars, building equipment and material, material handling & feeding
- Power tools, hand tools, plumbing tools, electrical test equipment
- Must have or obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR and AED (Automatic External
- Defibrillator) certification.
Manufacturing Maintenance Technician Work Environment:
- Climate: Heat, some outside work (cold, wet, humid)
- Some work required in high places, on the roof, or other precarious places
- Fumes or airborne particles (dust, smoke)
- Noise level can be moderately high
- Contact with chemicals (cleaners, oils)
- Protective equipment such as, steel toed boots, hearing protection, & safety glasses,which are required at all times; gloves, winter/rain gear, and hard hat as job requires
- Employee works around moving mechanical parts, tools and machinery, and electrical equipment
- Employee may be required to work in confined spaces
Manufacturing Maintenance Technician Physical Demands:
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- The employee frequently is required to: stand, walk, sit, stoop, bend and reach (both above and below the shoulder).
- Some tasks require employee to climb, push, pull or carry items, kneel, and squat in varying degrees.
- Some tasks require employee to ascend or descend ladders, stairways, or scaffolding.
- Regular use of tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to: use hands, talk, hear and see.
Authority: This position has the authority to perform and verify work affecting quality, and
has the freedom and authority to:
- Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, and/or quality system (including stopping production if necessary to correct quality problems)
- Identify, record and report any problems relating to the product, process and/or quality system
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions to management and/or other IST employees
- Verify or help to verify the implementation of solutions
- Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
