Duties
- Utilize Xactimate software to develop detailed and accurate damage estimates for water and fire restoration projects
- Assess property damage on-site, documenting conditions through photographs, measurements, and detailed notes
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters, contractors, and clients to negotiate scope of work and pricing adjustments
- Prepare comprehensive reports that clearly outline repair costs, materials, labor, and timelines
- Coordinate with project management teams to ensure estimates align with project budgets and timelines
- Review blueprints, contracts, and construction documents to inform accurate estimations
- Use Bluebeam and HeavyBid software tools for plan review, bid management, and cost control analysis
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating, particularly within water and fire damage restoration or related fields
- Proficiency in Xactimate estimation software is essential; familiarity with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and construction management tools is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, site safety protocols, and project management principles
- Excellent negotiation skills to facilitate effective communication with clients, insurance companies, and contractors
- Ability to interpret blueprints, contracts, and technical documents accurately
- Hands-on construction site experience to better understand repair scopes and material needs
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills for managing multiple estimates simultaneously
- Effective problem-solving abilities with a focus on cost control and pricing strategies
