Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and other construction machinery using electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical systems to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify machinery components as needed.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) equipment and farm machinery by analyzing schematics and performing detailed inspections.
- Service and repair various industrial equipment such as forklifts, tractor-trailers, and construction machinery while adhering to safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely during equipment replacement or assembly processes; conduct tire service and alignments for optimal operation.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety regulations and warranty requirements.
Skills
- Proven experience working with dealership service departments or in heavy equipment maintenance environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, fabrication techniques, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Expertise in electrical diagnostics including electrical systems repair and schematic interpretation.
- Skilled in diesel engine diagnostics and repair along with transmission servicing.
- Proficient in hydraulic systems repair, welding (including soldering), HVAC systems servicing, and air brake systems.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with OEM parts specifications for Caterpillar equipment or similar brands; experience with schematics is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
- Capable of performing heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining attention to detail during assembly or repairs.

Pay: $20.00 - $38.00 per hour
