Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Automotive Service Writer to join our fast-paced team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and customer service will help accurately assess vehicle needs, communicate repair options, and facilitate efficient service processes. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle concerns, and gather detailed information about their automotive issues.
- Write clear, accurate, and comprehensive service estimates using computer-aided vehicle estimating tools.
- Communicate repair recommendations effectively, upselling necessary services such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, alignments, suspension work, and transmission repairs.
- Coordinate with technicians and mechanics to prioritize repairs, ensure timely completion of services, and maintain quality standards.
- Manage vehicle repair orders from start to finish, including parts ordering, scheduling appointments, and updating customers on progress.
- Handle transactions accurately and process payments securely while maintaining detailed records.
- Maintain strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures across various systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and more.
Requirements
- Proven experience in auto service management or as a service technician with a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics and repairs.
- Previous experience is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, alignments, suspensions, transmissions, and engine repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency in auto estimating software and computer-aided vehicle estimating tools.
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driving experience is essential for test drives or vehicle inspections.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
