Pay: Hourly, $20-$23 per hour depending on qualifications, with overtime after 40 hours weekly. 2 weeks PTO, Retirement Benefits, and Healthcare available
Terms: Full-time, year-round
Seasonal Schedule:
Summer Hours (Mid May-July): Mon-Fri 9:00 AM-6:00 PM & Sun 11:00 AM-3:00 PM (Tuesdays off)
(Usually open for 11 Sundays per year)
(Peak Season – No Time off requests allowed during this time period.)
Spring & Fall Hours (Apr-Mid May & Aug-Oct): Mon-Fri 9:00 AM-6:00 PM (Tuesdays off)
Winter Hours (Nov-Mar): Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 10:00 AM-5:00 PM & Sat 10:00 AM-2:00 PM (Wednesdays off)
Job Description:
The Assistant Store Manager supports the day-to-day operations of a family-owned swimming pool and spa retail and service store. This role assists with staff supervision, customer service, sales, water testing, inventory management, and basic administrative duties. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a small business environment where flexibility and teamwork are essential.
Job Responsibilities:
· Provide knowledgeable, friendly service to customers regarding pool supplies, chemicals, equipment, and basic water care
· Help maintain strong, long-term customer relationships consistent with a family-owned business
· Assist in opening and closing the store
· Handle customer questions, concerns, and product returns
· Step in to manage store operations in the absence of the store manager
· Assist with training, scheduling, and supervising store staff
· Provide guidance and support to team members during daily operations
· Help foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
· Assist with in-store sales, promotions, and seasonal product offerings
· Help maintain merchandising displays and seasonal setups
· Assist with stocking and organizing inventory
· Assist with cash handling, POS transactions, and basic recordkeeping
· Support coordination with service technicians for delivery and service schedules
Candidate Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Very capable with computers
· General knowledge of Excel
· Organizational skills
· Neat and tidy
· Dependable and timely
· Self-motivated
· Prior retail, customer service, or supervisory experience preferred
· Ability to lift moderate weight (e.g., pool chemicals or supplies) and stand for extended periods
· Weekend and seasonal availability required
· Increased hours may be necessary during peak pool season
