Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, and plating to meet quality standards and presentation expectations
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and hygiene practices
- Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of ingredients, equipment, and supplies using safe lifting practices
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Contribute to banquet setups and assist with large catering or event food service operations
- Support the team with general kitchen duties including stock replenishment, food storage, and waste disposal, washing dishes
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent guest service
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a strong understanding of kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices
- Experience with cooking, food preparation, and basic culinary techniques
- Familiarity with POS systems such as toast
- Previous banquet experience or hotel kitchen experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively within a team and deliver guest services seamlessly
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly attitude towards guests and colleagues
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic understanding of hospitality principles including guest services, bussing, and food presentation
