We are in search of a Quality Control inspector.
Job responsibilities and duties
1. Interpret and apply blueprint drawing requirements, strong attention for details
2. Dimensionally inspect fabrications for fitment and completion to drawing requirements.
3. Visually inspect (VT) welds and fitments.
4. Penetrant inspect (PT) welds. (As needed)
5. Inspect incoming materials and assemblies or fabrications.
6. Good verbal and written communication skills, teamwork mentality.
7. Recommend improvement measures to the production process to ensure quality control standards are met.
8. The quality control inspector should possess strong organizational skills to perform product review and inspection.
About you:
Candidate must have at least three years experience in QC with respect to welding or steel fabrication. Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook, etc.
Personal Development – future desirable training/certifications
- SMP Welding is willing to fund future training of:
1. Visual inspection (VT) Level 2
2. Magnetic particle (MP)
3. Penetrant inspection (PT) Level 2
4. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
Compensation as follows:
· Pay rate $23-$27/hour

Inspector will report directly to the Shop Foreman/Operations Manager.
