$50K per year salary compensation package based on experience and negotiated upon hire.
Upon hire, employees will complete a paid training/orientation on site at EPMC with Clinical and Lab Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Active Paramedic license required
- Strong patient assessment and care skills and documentation
- Experience administering injections
- Knowledge of human physiology and medical equipment (DME)
- Familiarity with triage protocols in Urgent Care settings
The Emergency Physicians Medical Center is Gainesville's only walk-in high acuity Urgent Care Center (two locations) that has board-certified emergency medicine physicians working directly with Paramedics, LPNs, MAs, X-Ray techs and front desk administrative staff.

The paramedic’s primary role is patient care and laboratory duties, including but not limited to:
- Providing patient care by assisting the physicians in examining and treating patients.
- Preparing the examination rooms including organizing medical supplies.
- Taking and recording height, weight, visual acuity and vital signs such as pulse, temperature and blood pressure of each patient.
- Documenting patients past medical histories, medications and allergies.
- Performing EKG’s and assisting physicians with procedures.
- Drawing blood, giving IV and IM injections, starting and maintaining IV’s, splinting and casting, wound care, applying bandages.
- Performing laboratory tests such as, but not limited to, urine, blood, and strep testing.
- Maintaining medical equipment for the Centers.
- Providing patient education under the physician’s supervision by answering questions about medicines and treatment at home.
- Assisting in arranging direct patient admission to the hospital if needed.
- Ensuring that patient confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines are followed at all times.
EPMC paramedics also help keep operations running smoothly and efficiently by performing administrative duties including but not limited to:
- Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of treatment logs and patient charts.
- Maintaining proper lab records and quality control procedures.
- Helping to maintain medical supply inventory.
- Answering telephone calls efficiently and professionally and assesses urgency of calls.
- Tracking referrals as appropriate from physicians.
- Assisting in resolving any patient grievances.
- Maintaining professional knowledge by staying up-to-date in all continuing education.
