OVERVIEW OF POSITION
Reinigen Lawns is expanding and seeking an experienced Landscape Construction & Enhancement Foreman to join our growing team. This position is responsible for leading crews on a wide range of landscape enhancement and construction projects, including lawn renovations, grading and leveling, seeding and sod installations, landscape installations, shrub and hedge pruning, drainage improvements, and other property enhancement services.
The Foreman will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and according to company standards and project specifications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can motivate and train crew members, effectively manage jobsite operations, maintain quality control, and deliver exceptional results that exceed client expectations.
This individual must be organized, detail-oriented, and willing to assist with landscape maintenance operations when enhancement projects are not scheduled or additional support is needed. The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued growth and success of Reinigen Lawns.
SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday and occasional weekends when needed. Monday through Friday shift starts at 7am and ends approximately 5pm.
Please note if it is raining you will not be working an expected to work additional days in order to get the schedule back on track.
During the off season (January through March) Reinigen Lawns performs snow removal and tree removal services and you will be scheduled when their is jobs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and supervise a crew of 2-6 employees on landscape enhancement and construction projects.
- Oversee and actively participate in lawn renovation projects including grading, leveling, soil preparation, seeding, hydroseeding, and sod installations.
- Lead landscape installation projects according to approved plans and blueprints, ensuring all work is completed to company standards.
- Perform and supervise shrub and hedge pruning, ornamental tree trimming, and seasonal landscape enhancements.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
- Read and interpret landscape designs, site plans, irrigation layouts, and project specifications.
- Coordinate daily jobsite logistics including material deliveries, equipment needs, and labor allocation.
- Maintain accurate inventory of materials, plants, soil, mulch, and jobsite supplies.
- Ensure all equipment, vehicles, and trailers are properly maintained, cleaned, and accounted for.
- Train and mentor crew members on proper installation techniques, equipment operation, safety procedures, and company standards.
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers regarding project progress, scheduling, material requirements, and jobsite concerns.
- Identify and resolve jobsite issues proactively to avoid project delays.
- Maintain a safe working environment and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
- Willingly assist with weekly landscape maintenance operations when enhancement projects are not scheduled or additional manpower is needed.
- Represent the company professionally while interacting with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Dependably report to work on time and work additional hours when necessary to meet project deadlines and seasonal demands.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction, plant installation, grading, drainage, lawn renovations, and sod installations.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape designs, blueprints, and project layouts.
- Comprehensive understanding of landscape plant materials, horticultural practices, and proper installation techniques.
- Strong leadership and crew management skills.
- Ability to fluently speak, read, and write English.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and make sound decisions in the field.
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices and operation of commercial landscaping equipment.
- Ability to train employees and maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing a crew and multiple project responsibilities.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to assist wherever needed to achieve company goals.
TRAINING / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum 5 years of experience in landscape construction, landscape installation, lawn renovations, or related landscaping work.
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading or supervising landscape crews.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License (Class D or higher) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate and tow a 15-foot truck with a 12-foot trailer.
- Experience operating skid steers, mini skid steers, excavators, stand-on loaders, and other landscape construction equipment preferred.
- Experience with grading, drainage work, lawn installations, and landscape construction projects preferred.
- NYSDEC 3A Technician or Applicator License is a plus but not required.
- ISA Certified Arborist certification is a plus but not required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment, trucks, and trailers.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
