Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Construction and Design Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in construction project planning, design coordination, and project management. As a key member of our construction team, you will assist with managing construction schedules, reviewing plans, and supporting project execution from inception to completion. Your proactive approach and enthusiasm will contribute to the successful completion of architecturally significant projects in the Austin area, ensuring they meet quality standards, timelines, and budget expectations. Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules.
- Support the review and coordination of construction plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure alignment with project goals
- Collaborate with team to track progress, update schedules, and identify potential delays or issues early
- Aid in preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, and be proficient CAD and 3d rendering
- Participate in site visits to gather data, monitor safety compliance, and verify work progress against plans
- Assist in contract administration by reviewing contracts, change orders, and scope of work documentation
- Support project coordination efforts by communicating effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Analyze Excel data for project reporting, cost management insights, and schedule updates
- Contribute to the preparation of progress reports, meeting minutes, and other documentation necessary for project tracking
Experience
- Previous experience working on construction sites is preferred but not required; relevant internships are welcome.
- Proficient in CAD and Sketch up.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings
- Basic knowledge of construction estimating processes and cost management principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) .
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively while juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate across teams.
- Spanish speaker is preferred but not required.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills related to scheduling and project planning.
- Construction industry experience or coursework related to architecture or construction management is desirable
