Marketing & Social Media Intern – Part-Time

Thrive Interiors is a locally owned furniture, home décor and interior design business with locations in Encinitas and Solana Beach. We are a creative, fast-paced small business with a strong focus on beautiful products, inspiring spaces and a great customer experience.
We are looking for a creative, organized and self-motivated Marketing & Social Media Intern to help manage our day-to-day marketing and social media.
This position is ideal for a college student or someone early in their marketing career who has a strong interest in social media, interiors, fashion, retail and creating beautiful content.
We are looking for someone who can take direction and then work independently to complete projects, manage their time well and bring creative ideas to the table.
What You'll Do
- Create and schedule content for Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
- Photograph and film new products, store displays, installations and new arrivals.
- Create Reels, Stories and other short-form video content.
- Create graphics and marketing materials using Canva or similar programs.
- Assist with email marketing campaigns and newsletters.
- Promote store events, sales, new arrivals and product launches.
- Help keep our social media active, current and consistent with our brand.
- Assist with website updates and product listings as needed.
- Create signage and other in-store marketing materials.
- Research social media and retail trends and bring new ideas to the team.
- Help develop and maintain a marketing and content calendar.
- Support marketing for both our Encinitas and Solana Beach locations.
Who We're Looking For
- Creative with a strong eye for style and aesthetics.
- Comfortable creating content for Instagram and other social platforms.
- Familiar with Canva or similar design programs.
- Organized and able to manage projects and deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Able to take direction and follow projects through to completion.
- Reliable, professional and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable photographing and filming products and people.
- Interested in marketing, social media, retail, interiors, home décor, fashion or lifestyle brands.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced small-business environment.
Photography, video editing, social media management or previous content-creation experience is a plus.
Schedule
- Approximately 10-15 hours per week.
- Flexible scheduling that can work around a school schedule.
- Weekend availability is required and rotating bi monthly weekend hours will be a regular part of this position.
- Must be available to work at both our Encinitas and Solana Beach locations.
- This is an in-person position.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role creating real content and marketing materials for our stores. You will work directly with ownership and our team while helping maintain a consistent look, voice and marketing presence for the Thrive Interiors brand.
We are a small business, so we value someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, manages their time well and can work independently once given direction.
