Job Description
We are looking to hire reliable and friendly team members for our gas station and convenience store in Tonawanda, NY.
This position is responsible for helping customers, operating the cash register, stocking merchandise, keeping the store clean, and supporting daily store operations. We are looking for someone dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Prior gas station, convenience store, or cashier experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly customer service
- Operate the cash register and handle cash/card transactions accurately
- Sell convenience store items, fuel-related products, lottery, tobacco, and other age-restricted items as allowed by law
- Check IDs properly for age-restricted sales
- Stock shelves, coolers, coffee area, and displays
- Keep the store, restrooms, counters, coffee area, and sales floor clean
- Check product dates and rotate inventory
- Assist with deliveries and vendor check-ins
- Monitor fuel pumps and assist customers when needed
- Follow all store policies, safety rules, and cash-handling procedures
- Report customer issues, maintenance problems, or suspicious activity to management
Qualifications
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic math and cash-handling ability
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and stock merchandise as needed
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Retail, cashier, or gas station experience is a plus, but not required
