Summary
Under the supervisin f the Executive Directr and Directr f ESL and Wrld Languages, the ESL Facilitatr will assist in the planning, crdinatin and ESL prgram implementatin at the schl and district levels in cnjunctin with ther educatrs, families and students. In additin, the facilitatr will prvide direct and indirect schl-based supprt t ESL, classrm and cntent area teachers in instructin fr English Learners.
Essential Duties and Respnsibilities:
Prvides direct, technical assistance t ESL teachers and cntent teachers
- f English Language Learners.
Cmmunicates and cllabrates with staff, parents, students, cmmunity and advcates n issues pertaining t- English Learner Students.
Attends team and grade-grup meetings t prvide input n best practices f- r English Language Learners.
Participates in ESL curriculum devel- pment.
Assist with district curriculum planning and develpment t include apprpriate instructinal strategies fr ELs in c- ntent area subjects.
Assists schls in the identificatin, screening, scheduling, and placement f English Learners in language and cntent pr- grams.
Cllabrates with Special Ed Teachers and Facilitatrs t ensure that all apprpriate instructinal and assessment accmmdatins are prvided f- r ELs with IEPs
Assists schls in administratin - f language assessments required by federal and state laws.
Prvides assistance with mnitring exited ESL students and prvides strategies t cntent teachers t aid in the exit transiti- n.
Prvides prfessinal develpment fr ESL teachers, classrm teachers, cntent teachers, administratrs and paraprfessi- nals.
Participates in crdinating activities fr parents - f ELs.
Participates in initiatives related t- diversity and multiculturalism within the district.
Respnds t questins frm teachers and paraprfessi- nals regarding English Learners.
Perfrms such ther tasks and assumes such ther respnsibilities as may be assigned - r delegated by the
Superintendent f Schls and/- r his designee.
