A thriving industrial manufacturing firm is looking for a skilled Industrial Automation Technician to act as the primary technical lead for facility automation. You will play a key role in the upkeep, programming, and optimization of automated production machinery, directly contributing to plant reliability and operational output. Core Responsibilities

Resolve technical issues with automated production machinery to help reduce operational downtime.

Develop, adjust, and debug PLC logic, with a focus on Allen-Bradley systems and secondary experience in Siemens platforms.

Analyze and repair electrical control components, including VFDs, motion control/servo systems, HMIs, instrumentation, sensors, and industrial networking hardware.

Provide technical support for the installation of new equipment and automation system enhancements.

Execute electrical repairs and diagnostics on 480V three-phase power systems.

Utilize electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams to facilitate repairs and system understanding.

Contribute to the success of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.

Propose and implement technical solutions to boost equipment reliability and overall process efficiency.

Collaborate effectively with the production, engineering, and maintenance departments to drive process improvements.

Ensure that all maintenance activities and work orders are documented with precision.
Requirements

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in controls, automation, or electrical maintenance within a manufacturing setting.

Proven ability to diagnose and repair PLC-driven machinery.

Solid understanding of Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PLC-5) and Siemens PLC environments.

Proficiency with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and general industrial electrical infrastructure.

Ability to interpret ladder logic and complex electrical schematics.

Strong analytical mindset for effective root cause identification and troubleshooting.

Capacity to manage automation-related tasks with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated history of performing significant code modifications and PLC edits.

Practical experience working with vision systems or industrial robotics.

Knowledge of industrial communication standards such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, or DeviceNet.

Experience utilizing CMMS platforms for maintenance tracking.

Technical certification or an Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Automation, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
