Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry work across various projects, including residential, commercial, and restoration sites. Your expertise will ensure that all structures are built to code, safe, and visually appealing. As a Journeyman Carpenter, you will work closely with project managers, architects, and other trades to deliver exceptional results efficiently and safely. Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements and specifications.
- Construct, install, repair, and maintain structures such as framing, siding, roofing, drywall, doors, windows, cabinetry, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, and metal stud framing as needed for various projects.
- Execute trim carpentry tasks including baseboards, crown molding, door hanging, and custom woodwork with precision.
- Engage in restoration industry projects involving water damage remediation, plastering, stucco application, siding replacement, and mold remediation.
- Assist in fabrication and assembly of components using CNC machinery or manual techniques to meet project specifications.
- Conduct heavy lifting safely during material handling and ensure proper use of safety protocols on construction sites.
Skills
- Proficient in construction estimating to accurately assess project scope and materials needed.
- Extensive experience with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, and safety equipment.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for precise execution of tasks.
- Skilled in various carpentry disciplines including framing (wooden and metal), trim carpentry, roofing, siding installation, flooring installation (tile and hardwood), and fixture installation.
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical experience, HVAC systems (schematics understanding), masonry techniques, and water damage restoration processes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex tasks such as rebar installation or concrete forming.
- Experience with fabrication processes involving metal or wood components; knowledge of CNC machinery is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on-site during remodeling or restoration projects.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and reading technical instructions effectively.
