Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Maintenance Director to lead our facilities maintenance operations with energy and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the management of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across our manufacturing site. Your leadership will ensure that all equipment and infrastructure operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage facilities maintenance teams, ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability across all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance repair procedures aligned with industry best practices and safety regulations such as OSHA.
- Oversee the planning and execution of preventive maintenance schedules utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to minimize downtime.
- Supervise troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical systems, electrical systems—including high voltage and low voltage equipment—and HVAC systems using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Manage projects related to facilities upgrades or repairs by coordinating resources, timelines, budgets, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations through regular training sessions and safety audits.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies necessary for routine maintenance tasks; maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office tools.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on troubleshooting issues involving industrial maintenance procedures and system schematics to optimize operational performance.
- Manage facilities maintenance budgets, report on key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement continuous improvement strategies for operational excellence.
Requirements
- Proven management experience leading facilities or maintenance teams within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair—including HVAC systems—and electrical systems repair with experience handling high voltage and low voltage equipment.
- Strong familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, troubleshooting engineering issues, and using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters.
- Demonstrated understanding of OSHA safety regulations, industrial safety standards, and best practices in facilities management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and documentation purposes; experience with CMMS software is highly desirable.
- Supervising experience in managing facilities maintenance teams while fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with practical experience in plumbing system maintenance and repair as well as HVAC system troubleshooting including repairs related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning units.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams effectively while ensuring adherence to safety procedures and maintenance protocols.
