Job Summary
Well established Florist seeking a reliable and motivated Full Time Delivery Driver to join our busy Lofendo Flowers location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires excellent customer service skills and ability to handle sensitive situations, as you will be the face of our company during deliveries in funeral homes and churches.
Duties
- Maintain a professional appearance of yourself and company vehicle.
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to designated locations.
- Preparing packages for delivery and loading vehicle for most efficient route completion.
- Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure safe and timely deliveries.
- Update delivery status in a timely fashion and communicate effectively with store manager regarding any issues or delays encountered during route driving.
- Main accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and delivery confirmations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Keeping shop tidy and supporting shop with wrapping packages, restocking flowers/supplies, etc. while not out on deliveries.
- Other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Agree to our background and MVR check.
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver, Courier, or in commercial driving is preferred.
- Experience in floral industry is preferred.
- Ability to operate vehicles up to and including a box truck, safely and efficiently.
- Strong customer skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Effective and clear communicator.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with respect, and sometimes a basic understanding of religious customs.
- Must be comfortable driving in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to follow schedules accurately.
- Weekend and early morning start time availability a must
- Basic PC operation and typing skills. (Will train on our specific system.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
