Clinical Director (LCSW or licensed Clinical Psychologist)-OPWDD Services
Position Summary
The clinical Director is responsible for the oversight and leadership of all clinical services within the programs regulated by the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. This role ensures that services are person-centered, trauma-informed, and compliant with OPWDD regulations, while promoting the health, safety, and well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Qualifications:
· Must be a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a licensed Clinical. Psychologist (PhD/PsyD) in New York State.
· Active, unrestricted license required.
· Minimum of 5-7 years of clinical experience, preferably in OPWDD or similar settings.
· At least 2-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
· Strong Knowledge of OPWDD regulations, including Part 624/625, HCBS Waiver, and person-centered planning.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide clinical oversight across residential, day habilitation, and/ or community-based programs.
· Supervise clinicians and ensure appropriate clinical interventions and supports.
· Oversee development and review of:
o Life Plans
o Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs)
o Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
· Ensure compliance with OPWDD standards, including documentation, incident reporting, and audit readiness.
· Participate in Incident Review committees and ensure proper follow-up and mitigation strategies.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, psychiatry, and direct support staff.
· Provide crisis intervention guidance and clinical consultation.
· Ensure implementation of trauma-informed and person-centered practices.
· Lead staff training on behavioral support, mental health, and clinical best practices.
· Monitor program outcomes and support quality improvement initiatives.
Skills & Competencies:
· Strong understanding of intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
· Expertise in behavior management and mental health treatment.
· Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports (PBS)
· Excellent leadership, Communication, and team building skills.
· Ability to interpret and apply OPWDD regulations.
Work environment:
· Multi-Site (residential and program locations)
· Dome travel required between programs.
· Participation in on call rotation as needed.
Salary commences with experience.
Pay: $91,000.00 per year
